When you choose The Pogue Center you will receive care in one of the few JCAHO certified office-based surgical centers in Arizona. JCAHO ( Joint Commission on Accredited Healthcare Organizations ) is the same organization that evaluates hospitals for safety and quality of care.
 Accreditation by Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) means that we have volunteered to undergo a challenging, comprehensive evaluation. We have made a significant extra effort to review and improve the key factors that can affect the quality and safety of your care.
Certification is not an easy process. Rigorous testing and evaluation of our surgical area and staff members are conducted. Our staff is tested on their knowledge of safety and procedural issues, all to further your health and well being.
A team of health care professionals from JCAHO personally visited our facility to conduct a review of how well we:
- Provide a safe environment for your care
- Educate you about the risks and options for diagnosis and treatment
- Protect your rights as a patient, including your right to confidentiality
- Evaluate your condition before, during and after diagnosis and treatment
- Protect you against infection
- Plan for emergency situations
JCAHO testing is conducted every three years. We voluntarily seek this scrutiny in order to assure our patients of our commitment to their care and treatment. We are honored to receive this coveted accreditation.
The seal of approval from JCAHO is a clear sign that we have demonstrated compliance with the most stringent standards of performance.

Your surgical care is generally provided in three appointments.
On the initial visit, Dr. Pogue will review your medical history, discuss your concerns and answer questions. Insurance issues are also addressed at this initial appointment. A procedure will be scheduled, if indicated.
Your surgical procedure is performed on the second visit.
A final appointment is scheduled after your procedure to check your progress and answer any questions.

The Pogue Center is always ready to address your medical and dental insurance needs. We will assist with predetermination of insurance benefits, filing claims for treatment performed and pursue your maximum insurance benefit--in essence, financial assistance before, during and after treatment.
